About Sponsor a Senior

The Sponsor a Senior program helps provide one-time or ongoing minor expenses to Interfaith’s low-income, older adult clients. Nearly all are in need of additional items that are out of their fixed-income budgets.

Examples include:
-Pet food/vaccines/vet visits
-Transportation (bus passes or gas cards)
-Household needs (cleaning supplies, small kitchen appliances)

Instead of matching donors with a particular client, we’ll share a story of one client per month, along with the specific assistance your gifts have provided. The average need to fully sponsor a client for 6 months is $500; gifts of any amount will help provide essentials to a fixed-income individual.

Meet Debbie

Debbie is 79 years old. She spent her career as a cashier at a local casino until failing eyesight forced her to retire. Debbie is legally blind so is not able to drive, but she uses public transportation to get around. Debbie appreciates being able to pop in to Interfaith’s onsite case manager for help reading and filling out forms. She often receives mail she’s unable to read, and needs help responding.

Debbie's food processor recently broke and she wasn’t able to grate a zucchini (from a friend’s garden) to make zucchini bread. Debbie owns a long-haired black cat with bright green eyes, named Jade, and would appreciate funds to help buy food and toys for her, as well as the occasional visit to the veterinarian.
